The Rose City, CA Tapes & Records Pop-Up Shop was an absolute success. Thank you to everyone who came out and grabbed a piece of art, VHS tape, record, or any of the merchandise for sale that day. We sincerely appreciate your support in welcoming Guy Long back to Sacramento.
Guy rolled into Sacramento the evening before the event to drop off, setup, and prepare.
His biggest piece was this one; The 60" x 48" piece titled, "San Julian."
Guy introduced his 'Tapes & Records' concept selling vintage VHS and old 45's; A buck a piece! Needless to say, the question of the day became; "Do you even own a VCR though?"
Of course, the bread and butter of Guy's offerings is his artwork. He sources canvases from the only place in LA who sells them. He sands them down before applying finishes (and more sanding) to ensure the smoothest surface to paint on. He applies each color five times over to provide pop like you haven't seen in other paintings. The process is extensive and the result is striking. It was an honor just to help setup and curate our space with his art.
Rose City Souvenirs were available as well!
We even ran a collaboration t-shirt which you can now purchase in our online shop and at our brick and mortar.
Rose City Tapes & Records at Timeless Thrills was a hit! Sacramento was lucky to have Guy Long back in town. We look forward to setting up more pop-ups with Guy as time goes on. In the meantime, checkout everything Rose City, CA has to offer online.
