BRADLEE BRIXX

Bradlee Brixx is co-owner of Switchblade Tattoo Club and a seasoned vet having tattooed sixteen years before the age of 40.  His resume is impeccable and his tattoos are hard to miss.  Staying true to traditional roots, Bradlee’s tattoos prove untraditional in nature.  They are as striking as the subject matter itself.  From skulls to webs, vases, and lady heads, and of course his signature “brixx;” Bradlee’s style is immediate and impactful.

For the “DEATH AT DUSK” show Bradlee’s works include mixed media pieces spanning multiple techniques including; Acrylic, pastel, oil, powder pigment, crackle paste, and granular gel.  His process creating this art proved therapeutic.  While tattooing must be exact and carries immense pressure, creating such large scale pieces for Bradlee allowed him to be flexible and explore new creative avenues.

SEAN MCMAHON

Sean McMahon is co-owner of Switchblade Tattoo Club and has been tattooing professionally twelve years.  His style embodies traditional tattooing, staying true to a look once executed by the likes of Bert Grimm and other forefathers;  Bold tattoos but with Sean’s youthful movement and declaration throughout.

For the “DEATH AT DUSK” show McMahon’s works include paintings spanning several types of canvases and paints including Sumi ink from Japan.  While creating this work he leaned heavily into traditional Japanese imagery using subject matter directly inspired by ancient, Japanese artwork.  

CAIT GALE

Cait Gale's tattoos and art pack a punch.  Gale produces traditional tattoos sprinkled with her own distinctiveness;  Bold outlines, solid shading, and staying true to traditional tattoo imagery is what shines in her final product.  Through it all it remains clear it is a “Cait Gale tattoo.”  With eight years under her belt, Gale is a proven tattooer while her artwork parallels that same level of commitment.

For the “DEATH AT DUSK” show Gale’s works include several paintings, some experimenting with wood stain conversion.  Her inspiration for these works stemmed from a broken heart and themed heavily through sadness.  However, creating these pieces helped Gale feel the ups and downs of not just grieving but healing as well.  The finished product proved climactic.  

LUCAS TABAKOV

Lucas Tabakov is the final piece to the core four at Switchblade Tattoo Club.  Having tattooed almost a decade, Tabakov has a strong traditional background with his own distinct flow to it.  He can tattoo something straight forward from his flash or draw you an intricate snake.  At the end of the day his art reclaims devotion to the fundamentals of traditional tattooing while conveying his own look and style. 

For the “DEATH AT DUSK” show Tabakov’s works include paintings, experimenting on delicate rice paper.  He would treat the paper with sizing solution and multiple tinted washes, then repeat the process over and over.  The end result produced a thicker and more substantial canvas ready for ink.
